Just Checking In

With pleasure there should be some show announcements in the coming week, one of which may be very last minute.  Any friends / family in Vermont will have a treat in store.  Even though the updates aren’t steady I feel it’s important to take time out to give thanks and praise to the most high for his continued guidance through such a tough storm I had been traveling.  He always see’s me through any rough troubles and I know he’s listening.

Musical Heatwave

Fresh off the press a nice update for everyone.  Currently, some remaining members of a reggae group that I had put together back in 2009 called “One Foundation” are getting together in order to put together a new reggae group.  No name, no expectation at the current moment so all I can really suggest is that you wait because we’d like to have a couple surprises thrown in the mix when we begin shows and recordings as well.

With respect to Beggars Made we’ve been and will continue working on new material, however that does not stop me from a pursuit to challenge myself as a song writer.  Whether or not you hear anything that I have 100% contributed to lyrically, vocally, etc. I will be taking those tracks and posting them on my soundcloud account.  It’s a matter of time – I’m not fond of the things that I have created, however maybe some will enjoy the sound and appreciate the time I’ve put into the music artistically.  Erik is moving back to Connecticut, we’ve been in touch and confirmed that we’re going to give it the full push this time and Craig and I have been working on tracks as well together.  Paul will be involved too when we have tracks that make sense so he can add his classic touch to.

That’s the latest at the moment.

Some Things To Look Forward To

Greetings family, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything on here, however I have been working on several projects for this website.  Currently I continue to work on my tumblr blog “FY Reggae” at http://fuckyeahreggae.tumblr.com/ so that does tend to take up time on the side of all the music I’m trying to develop.

With all that said I’ve been working on an entry called “Why Parents Rock” – which is about why musicians who are parents make the best band members.  While I’ve been eager to just push the “post” button – I’d prefer make sure the point is well made and that all my sources are accurately referenced and like the outcome of what I have written.  I look forward to sharing with you what I consider to be a great read.

So what’s become of my solo stuff?  I’m working hard to get my first single out sometime this spring.  I have released on SoundCloud much of the music that I have worked on or been working on with other artists.  You can find my soundcloud page at: soundcloud.com/gadnathan

Long story short – I’m actively working on everything and I’m excited to share it all with you.  Time and quality is the most important to me.

A band with a lot to offer…

Hartford, CT – Around 2003 / 2004 a project began to develop from four guys who love music.  Their first show was approaching quickly and they needed a name – Beggars Made.  From that moment on it was the name that captured a group of hard working guys who loved music so much that their desire to share it was captured in each recording (whether live or studio).  After a run until about 2007 the group decided to take a break, which brings us to 2013 when three of the four members decided to regroup and work on new music.

After releasing a single, they quickly realized this is one band that was meant to continue forward.  Now in 2014, The Beggars Made have begun writing and recording new material and plan on playing some shows too.  It’s a happy moment to share with everyone especially now that all four members are willing to work on and contribute new materials.  If you’re interested, have a listen at www.reverbnation.com/beggarsmade or www.myspace.com/beggarsmade where you can hear some new and some old!

From Gad With Love

Greetings with love and giving thanks for life on yet another beautiful day.

Being that a holiday of LOVE is upon us (Valentines Day), I wanted to share that I have made available a playlist called “From Gad With Love.”  I encourage all reggae or music lovers to follow me and get this playlist for an evening of love with that special someone.  I also intend on releasing other playlists via Spotify to give you insight in what may be inspirational, motivational and educational.  When those become available I will be sure to make an announcement to you all.  Check it out below and give me some feedback too if you enjoy it!

Reggae / Conscious music has a very special place in my heart.  During troubled times the only thing closest to gospel music that could lift me up were the words that these artists were sharing.  To this day, I could never repay the voids that it has filled in my heart – reggae has lifted me up to higher heights.  Does this music have special meaning to you?  I would love to hear in a comment why you love the music of Jah people.

Some time ago a close friend of mine chose to take a journey away from the normal stress and worries here in the United States.  If you’d like to check out Paul’s story I encourage you all to see what he has made happen in that time and the positive things he has to say about taking a leap into the unknown.  In my opinion, you may feel trapped where you are, but with a little research you can go anywhere in life.

I try my best between Facebook and the Website to keep up on the activities that he’s been taking part in.  Don’t discount this, it’s worth a look.

Greetings I Bring

Yes,

Greetings family, and thank you for visiting the I-fficial website of Gad Nathan (Artist & Musician).  Today I officially launch my website as a ways and means of communication with all friends and family about the latest in musical endeavors that I am working on as well as studio antics, live performances, appearances and travel.  This year (2014) is the start to all great roads musically and I want to share the journey with you all.

Let me start by saying, while the site is being built up to be a little more user friendly, this main page here is where you’ll find the primary content that I share…  Beyond here I will only have a links page of sorts to share where else you can find me on the web.

Sending a lot of love to you all.
